As part of the annual Girls' Day, we had the great pleasure of welcoming 9 schoolgirls aged 11 to 18 to our company on 25 April 2020. Our colleagues had prepared seven stations in advance with great commitment and creativity, where they wanted to familiarise the participants with steps in our planning process and our range of tasks.
At the beginning, the students were able to practise a short soil speech, gather information about geology and water and collect much more from the geoportal of the city of Berlin. They then put what they had learnt in chemistry lessons into practice by examining groundwater for contamination and learning about the effects of contaminated sites. The demolition of existing buildings was then covered, as was the construction of excavation pits for new buildings and the associated drawings. The stations were rounded off with a sports session measuring vibrations and then a visit to a construction site.
We would like to thank our participants for their fun and curiosity, as well as our colleagues for their hard work and motivation during the preparations!

‘So thank you very much!!!! As parents, we found it hard to beat. Such great preparation. Such an exciting day full of games, fun and excitement, the girls were wonderfully exhausted from all the great activities.´
‘[...] thank you once again for the invitation. It was my first time at Girls' Day and I really enjoyed it. There were lots of stations, it was very interesting and I learnt a lot. I would like to do an internship with you later. I want to study architecture later on, but I also really liked the engineering and geotechnical work you did. [...]’
