One era ends, a new one begins: Peter Bahnsen (office founder and senior consultant at BBI Geo- und Umwelttechnik Ingenieur-Gesellschaft mbH), the long-standing president and now honorary president of the Hamburg Chamber of Civil Engineers (HIK-Bau), symbolically handed over the reins to his successor in office, Dr Stefan Weihrauch, at a ceremony at the InfoCenter Kesselhaus in Hamburg's HafenCity on 28 May 2024.
Karen Pein (Senator for Urban Development and Housing - BSW), Ingolf Kluge (Vice President of the Federal Chamber of Engineers - BIngK) and Karin Loosen (President of the Hamburg Chamber of Architects - HAK) gave welcoming speeches.
Dipl.-Ing. Peter Bahnsen, retired from office at the end of 2023 at his own request after 15 years. He was a founding member of the Hamburg Chamber of Civil Engineers in 1998, its Vice President from 2003 to 2008 and its President since 2008. In this role, he has decisively shaped the chamber and raised its profile nationwide.
