Start of excavation work on Bleibtreustraße

At Bleibtreustraße 48a on Savignyplatz in Berlin-Charlottenburg, the construction of the excavation pit began this week with the drilling of piles. The VBKI (Verein Berliner Kaufleute und Industrieller e.V.) is planning to construct a seven-storey office building with a basement on the site.

Due to the integration into the groundwater, an approx. 6 m deep, watertight trough excavation is required for the construction of the basement, which will be realised with a back-anchored, overcut bored pile wall and a jet grouting base as a horizontal sealing level. The closely neighbouring DB AG tracks, which run on an approx. 7 m high embankment, pose particular challenges.

GuD is acting as subsoil expert and excavation planner for this construction project. We also prepared the deformation forecast for the railway line and designed the vibration protection measures for the building. In the current execution phase, we are supervising the special civil engineering work on site, which is being carried out by BSV Spezialtiefbau GmbH.
